Blood Donation
Blood Donation
There is no donation like blood donation. You save a life if you are a blood donor. Walk with humanity, always walk with blood donors. Walk with humanity is a platform of a social cause like blood donation. We organize blood donation camps from time to time to add in great life-saving causes like blood donation. The importance of a single unit of blood should be asked of a person who was about to die but saved by that unit of blood. Your blood is blood for you but it is nectar for a patient on his deathbed.
● In India, some people need blood every 2 seconds.
● In India, more than 38,000 donations are needed every day.
● Approximately 5 crore units of blood are needed in our country every year.
● 2.5 crore units of blood are available in India.
● Blood can be regarded as a substitute for life but there is no substitute for blood.
● Every year, more than 1 million people are diagnosed with cancer for the first time. During their chemotherapy treatment, many patients may require blood, possibly daily.
● The average transfusion of red blood cells is about 3 pints.
The Indian Red Cross Society had issued an alert in early April, stating that voluntary donations had dropped by over 100 percent. This isn't surprising, considering the rising number of Covid cases, which makes infected people and others who come into touch with them ineligible to donate, aside from the fact that most people haven't left their house in three months.
During the ongoing epidemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has established instructions for safe blood donation. It adds that no cases of transfusion-transmission have been documented, and that blood donation can still be done as long as donors and organizers of blood donation campaigns follow the rules for donor and organizer safety.
Apart from significant medical and surgical treatments that are necessary to save lives in the case of a disease or accident, blood is also necessary during natural disasters and maternal care. Those with thalassemia, who require regular blood transfusions, are particularly susceptible during a blood shortage.
Walk with humanity takes care of every safety issue of donors according to the standard of the Indian Red Cross Society and the Ministry Of Health and Family Welfare.
Feel proud to be a blood donor.
● Donors claim the number one reason they donate blood is that they "want to help others."
● A single donation can save up to three people's lives and give them a second chance.
● If you decided to donate blood at the age of 18 and did so every 90 days until you were 60, you would have provided 30 gallons of blood, which could save over 500 lives!
● Blood donation is good for your blood as it makes your blood thin and prevents blood clotting and it easily circulated which lessens the chances of 'Heart Attack'.
● Type O-negative blood is required in situations where the patient's blood type is unknown, as well as in the case of infants who require blood.
